Throughout October, elementary, middle and high schools all across Utah partner with USHE to organize Utah College Application/Awareness Week (UCAW). This program provides high school seniors the opportunity to complete at least one college or university application during the school day. Additionally, it supports a college readiness culture in our schools and across our state and creates awareness that college is a possibility for all students.
Most college grads earn twice as much in their lifetimes as high school grads.
But applying for college can seem overwhelming, or you may not know where to start. That’s where we can help!
Remember, “college” can be anything from a one-year certificate, to a two-year associate degree, to a four-year bachelor’s degree and beyond.
At your school’s Utah College Application Week events, you’ll be able to:
Ask the experts
Our college-readiness experts and resources will help you step-by-step through the application process and are here to answer all your questions.
Apply to college
UCAW events give high school seniors the opportunity to fill out college applications during the school day. Some Utah colleges and universities even waive their application fees for students from participating high schools.
Apply for financial aid
As part of UCAW, schools also plan a FAFSA Completion Event to help students and their parents begin federal financial aid applications as part of the college admissions process. Students must fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to qualify for college aid like grants, work-study, and student loans.
