Each college has a deadline you’ll need to submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by to be sure your federal student aid money is available for you to use on the first day of classes. This ensures that your classes won’t be dropped as long as you complete other necessary requirements. The FAFSA can take several weeks to process, so it’s important you submit it as soon as possible.

After you’ve submitted your 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), there are still a few things you need to do. Some colleges even require that you fill out and submit additional paperwork once you have submitted your FAFSA. Be sure to check with the college you are attending to see if there are any additional requirements you need to complete.
