My name is Steve Rogers and I manage the StepUp Utah efforts that focus on helping students and their families pay for college.

For nearly fifteen years I have had the opportunity of helping people through this very important and sometimes challenging process. If there is one thing that I have learned in all that time, it is that Utah is fortunate to have so many talented educators, advisors, and professionals who really are committed making college possible for those who want to attend.

Whether it is through the website StepUpUtah.com, our various publications and social media outlets, or meeting with Utah students face-to-face, our team loves being able to share the message that college is possible. I grew up in a single parent home and was fortunate to have a mother that instilled the importance of education. Through her example and support, I have been able to receive not only a Bachelor of Arts degree, but I have received two additional graduate level degrees and am currently close to completing a PhD. Utah has many unique challenges that impact higher education, but we believe StepUp Utah can help eliminate some of those common barriers and concerns that prevent so many from pursuing college.

I am a native of Utah and grew up in the avenues of Salt Lake City. I am a proud West High graduate and have received my degrees from some of the great colleges in this state (BYU, Utah, and Weber). I now live in Bountiful with my wife Natalie and our four children. We enjoy spending time together as a family and playing whatever sport is in season. I am a huge Utah Jazz fan and was going to games when John Stockton and Karl Malone first started playing in the NBA. Perhaps the most important thing you ought to know about me is how much I love the educational journey. My team and I will continue to work tirelessly to make sure you have access to the best information and resources to help you StepUp to higher education.
